Last Thursday night a very unique art show opened in San Francisco.
Taking a cue from the DIY toy world, S.F. fashion boutique the Five and Diamond has curated a DIY group art show.... only they have decided to use a leather flight helmet as the platform for the event!



The show itself was packed all night long with fashionable art collectors, surrounded by live models wearing the actual art pieces around and demonstrating their functionality. A fun twist on the usually static environment of an art gallery.



Being the only toy artist involved I decided that I needed to represent my passion and go with the toy motif for my headdress, a custom toy amalgamation that I am calling the "Head Hunter."



An updated take on a head hunter's victory headdress, featuring dozens of customized skulls and accessories from over 20 different vinyl toys. From Dunny's, to Qee's, to a Zlik there is a little something on this headdress for every toy collector.



A major diversion from my usual toy work, this piece was a nice change of pace.... i just hope I never have to hand sew anything ever again!!"

yah, the lineup was made mostly of fashion and accessory designers... i was the only person from the toy world invited. which was quite an honer.
