Today I'm pleased to bring you an interview from a great artist and member, here is the 23rd installment of the CTU's interview series...

Presenting the CTU's Dirty Dozen featuring: VISEone

1. What name do you go by and why?

I go by the name of "VISEone". It all started with my DJ name "VISE" since the mixer is kept between the two turntables
like it was holding by a visegrip and my DJ-partners name was PRESSURE so it made sense back then. Later when I started to
use this name as my graffiti artists name I heard about another graff artist named VISE...
SCIEN by 123KLAN actually added the "one" when he was doodling in my blackbook - so I sticked with VISEone since then.

2. Why did you get into custom toy making?

I always liked designer toys and of course customs. My first custom was a CHAOS MONKEY.
I really liked the idea to transform an already cool piece of vinyl into a unique "themed" custom.

3. What influences / motivates your work the most?

My influences is a mix of Movies, Cartoons, Comics, things I see here and there and of course other great artists in this scene.
My daily motivation is fun and keeping my inner child alive.

4. What is your favorite platform to work with?

I like bigger toys most - starting with 7" - so I have to name the MUNNYS, MadL, Labbit - for my COMIC STRIPPED series
I prefer platforms with a clear shape and surface - since the collage technique doesn't work so well on tiny parts.
But I guess there's no real favorite platform - any platform can work with a special theme.

5. What tools of the trade do you use?

I work with Milliput for the sculpting parts. Sculpting tools, Dremel, Knife - all kind of stuff that works and is useful.

6. Do you have any formal arts training?

No - all self trained...

7.What other artistic mediums do you dabble in?

I started with canvas works and I'm currently working on a COMIC STRIPPED series in that media. I'm working with a photograph team,
apply comic on models - take pictures - rework them digital - print them on canvas and add more collage onto the canvas...

8. Who are your favorite artists?

There are too many to name. I've seen countless gifted artists and I really can't name a specific artist as my favorite anymore.

9.Who or what pieces do you collect?

Any piece that I like or catches my attention - if I can afford it I will buy it. So my collection is a mix of many different artists.

10. What piece are you most proud of?

My "SEA HUNTER" which was my first release as a resin toy

11.Do you have any shows or exhibitions in the works?

Hopefully with the upcoming canvas works I'm able to have enough material to
have a solo show soon - I'm currently planning a solo show but no galleries to name yet. I'm open for requests!

12. Do you take commissions?

Sure!
