So I've been thinking about this question but wouldn't know how to answer it since I have yet to be a part of it.

As customizers of toy and art how does it make you feel to see someone resell a piece you created specifically for the reseller? Is it worse when they raise the price? Is it a time thing (over time you worry less about it happening)?

Now before people call shenanigans on me asking this I am not looking to sell anything I own. I just hope to one day sell a piece I create (even if my mom buys it) and don't know how I would feel if I saw it for sale at a later time. I would sort of feel upset I think it is was a custom piece designed solely for that person especially if it were soon after it shipped (6 months - year) and was for more than what I charged.

Lets open this up and see if I am the only one thinking about this. I know there are probably a couple of you who had this happen to already.

After time I think you wouldn't mind as much.
People go out of the collecting business all the time. Sometimes they form families, acquire new priorities etc. and so they need to sell their stuff.
In this scenario I would understand and not judge.

But if you do something and the guy goes flipping the piece on the bay right away, that's fucked up.

Those situations I would definitely understand. I don't think the flipping mentality would ever be too pleasing for me.

If someone needed the money then I wouldn't mind. Sometimes life gets in the way of collecting. It sucks but it happens.

If someone were confident enough to think they were going to make money flipping my work, and then they actually did? Shee-it! I would take that as compliment:)
Also, forget people even needing money. I could see someone getting out of collecting just because it no longer captures their imagination. The reason I got into toys was because of ThreeA. Now I could give a crap about it. I hope Ashley Wood wouldn't take that as a personal insult. I mean, just my admitting that has had a profound effect on how I have spent some of the short time I have to be alive, I feel is paying him some true respect as an artist. Now, I just happen to be into other stuff. There are only so many hours in a day to give to creating, collecting, and doing whatever else we do (or are supposed to be doing:) otherwise.
The point I am getting at is that I don't think any reason to resell a custom, even if it is just to try to recoup your cash from buying something you ended up not liking (is the ThreeA stuff I've sold any different?) is anything to for the buyer or the artist to stress about. Folks opinions are changing constantly and, in they end, they are just opinions, right?
