This is a suggestion for off the Portal and not really the boards.

I am new to customizing toys and do a lot of reading online and ask a lot of questions. I started with the KR forums but wasn't looking to talk about the newest Huck Gee release or complain about flippers buying stuff and selling it on eBay. I wanted to learn about customizing vinyl figures. I believe it was Matt A* that directed me here. This site has the expereince in its members I was looking for to seek help and understaning as well as get feedback on what I have done. One thing I was hoping to find out there, and didn't really, was a place that had articles and how-to's written by those that do it. I know you have to have artists that are willing to take the time to write stuff up, but a section off the portal that covered articles like the following would benefit all the members as well as attract new members (if that is desired).

Articles such as:
different ways to clean and strip a figure for customizing
scupting tricks
priming
how to great paint effects like rust or other things
maybe artists walking through their process step by step with a custom
protecting a custom after the work is done

I know a lot of this can be found in the forums after a search, but a place with it all in one spot (maybe by category) would be awesome.

My idea so I am always willing to write stuff up. I just don't have the experience yet. The only thing I can write up is how I stripped and repolished a clear dunny head, but if this section shows up I will right that up for it.

I've been taking step by step photos of my customs that I'm currently working on.
I wouldn't mind writing and sharing the WIP photos. Let me know where to post and give me a few days.
