I've been working on my own designed figure for the last few months and thought I'd share the progress of what I've done so far.

The concept sketch, a stylized version of a character of mine.


I then modeled base sculpts for each individual piece in Maya.


My brother in law owns a 3D printing business, and he was able to print my prototype.


Finally I smoothed the sculpt and added details.


I'm working on making a mold right now, I just need to save up a little bit so I can afford a few liters of silicone. I'll keep updating this as I complete the casting.

That looks pretty good, but I think the feet could be a bit smaller. No other complains than that.

I agree with hypno but don't get me wrong. I like the figure. How much does 3D printing cost?

It might not be cost effective to do it if you're good at sculpting with clay, but I have way for experience sculpting in Maya, so it worked for me.
